Default 1080P Projectors - 3LCD or SXRD?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to pickup a 1080P projector for the holidays when I have family over. I've pretty much decided between the Mitsubishi HC6000 or the Panasonic AE3000. The HC6000 is about $1500 the AE3000 about $2200, but $700 extra coin for the AE3000 with its fantastic reviews I might just have to go for it.

However the price of LCOS and SXRD projectors have been coming down in price as I've always wanted a JVC DILA (LCOS) or Sony SXRD projector. After doing some research (mentioned in another thread) there's a company AAXA that is rebadging the LG AF115 which is an Sony SXRD projector for only $2299. I have tried, but cannot find any information on the AF115 projector, but I know SXRD is supposed to be all that and more.

So what do you guys think? Should I save money (it is a recession afterall) and go with the cheaper HC6000, get the tried and true AE3000 or roll the dice on a better (supposedly) AF115?

I really want a LCOS type projector, but I don't want to pull the trigger without reviews.

Has anyone compared these three projectors side by side?

Any input would be very much appreciated!

Cool, thanks for the reply! What's wrong specifically with LG? I have an LG TV, it has less problems (none) than my Phillips one. Is there something specifically wrong with their projectors?

High failure rates and low life expectancies. Much more so than any of the other brands.
