Yeah, the ads have really made this site run crappy for me too. It's a coin flip as to whether or not the page will load or not.

I run IE at work and Firefox at home, and it's the same problem in both places.

I run the same browsers as you do and it sucks to post anything, it takes forever to upload. I also encounter clicking from thread to thread can be slow to load the entire page. And I have over 4 mb of upload and about the same of download from my internet provider.

It gets frustrating attending this Forum.

With all of the ads, Google ad sense, Vibrant Media pop ups and the constant slowdowns attributed to ad servers which are exceeding their bandwidth limits, I'm outta here. I'm sure others feel the same way. This forum used to be fun...

Actually I don't have any issues with the site.. Load prority by default with MS is set way to high at 499 it should be 1. TCP connections are set to low number also. You can adjust these setting to access this site quicker. I see what L2W is talking about using the feature of FF to spot what's being loaded. But with all forums I belong too they all have to make a living, server cost and access isn't cheap.. Just have to live with it.. I don't like ads myself, but ads are getting harder to stop..

I wasn't aware that anyone was still having issues with this, sorry guys. I'll get in touch with our ad guy and see if we're reporting this across some other sites. We might have to start some more aggressive caching.

Thanks Dick!

Anything you can do to speed things up would be greatly appreciated. It does sound like it is the ad servers are where the slowdown is and it depends on the traffic on those ad servers, so a much more aggressive caching of those server feeds should resolve it.

Your right wouldn't be aware on your end.. If you check this site from your home PC then you would be aware of the problem. But those with slower internet connections might have more problems than those who don't with faster connections. I don't see any ads myself. But if I come in with a business system from a client I do see the ads and it is slow...

Tippy...the only way IB Dick wouldn't be aware is if he only checked this forum once every 6 months. It's been a constant complaint. I have FiOS at home and a T1 line at work and it gets hung up in both places. Junkie, Rizz, Loves2Watch, sprk and many others are having problems so severe that we are jumping ship.

We never had any problems before this site was flooded with google ads. I know, I've heard the excuse that this site costs money and ads are neccessary. However, trying to recoup the costs of the site, and trying to exploit the site to turn a profit are two entirely different things.

This site was created with the members of the forum in mind. Now it's turned into another corporate website where the only thing that matters is making a buck. Complaints about the site don't matter, reporting posters who constantly pick fights don't matter, nothing matters except for making a profit. That's not why we all came to this site, but it is why many of us are leaving.

I'm in full agreement, This site was an excellent forum when owned and operated by CASS but since IB Brands bought in and took over, it simply became another Money Monger site with all concerns aimed at the Almighty $$$ dollar, and total disregard for its membership. When we've complained of site delays and problems they simply washed their hands of any responsibility and blamed members equipment or providers or any other myriad of problems rather than acknowledging the problem is theirs and try to correct it, probably due to the possibility of increased operating cost thereby limiting the profit margin. It's a shame a great site has been allowed to deteriorate to what it has become. Hopefully because of enough people complaining they will correct the situation, rather than allow this site to fall into the abyss of many other sites that became only a place to make money off their members.
