Question Problem posting new threads here at HDF

I am having a problem posting new threads here at HDF.

When I click SUBMIT - it takes about 30 to 45 seconds of nothing then the screen changes to DATABASE ERROR.

And I have to try again with most times - the same conclusion.

NOTE: this thread took three tries to get it posted.

Major problem for me.

You mean do a defrag?

I have no problem posting threads at AVS or HDD. Only here.

OK - I did a defrag and some other house cleaning functions on my PC.

And I did just post a new thread in the HDM Forum and it only took about 10 seconds and it did go through on the first try so I will see what happens.

Oblioman - that may have solved the problem - either way - thanks for the suggestion.

Also try to delete the temp folder contents (but not the folder) and do another defrag as well as delete the HDF cookies (be aware you will have to reenter the user name & password) as this might have become corrupt as well.

I have the "empty temp internet folder when closing the browser" option selected under Internet Options under Tools so it is empties everytime I close Explorer which is multiple times per day.

I already did a cookie dump which had no effect on the problem.

The internet temp folder dump is different from the temp folder for general computer/OS functioning. If you have not changed the location (like I have for improved efficiency) then it would be in the C:\Windows\temp folder.

That is your temp internet files. There is another temp folder for windows use separate from the browsers temp fold you stated here.

Just do a search for the temp folder using windows search feature.

Or use CCleaner. Freeware I love it.

Problem still exists.

Just tried to post a thread in the HDM Forum - after 2 tries - I gave up.

Send a PM to IB-Dick as he would be the go to person for this issue.

Good luck!
