Just bought a Pioneer 5050HD...now I need to mount it on the wall. I see many different brands of wall mounts (mine will be a flat-style / non-tilting install).
I would like to mount it as close to the wall as possible, so the Pro Mounts setup seems best for that @ ~1.0" thickness. However, Perless and Sanus also make mounts that look good but are a little thicker. Is there a minimum clearance for heat dissapation needed? Any good suggestions? Thanks! When you want to get as close as you can to a wall with your plasma I suggest going with the orginal manufacterers mount. They are the thinest avaible but they are pricy compared to aftermarket mounts. At least double the cost retail.

Thanks,
I saw the Pioneer mount - it seemed to place the panels about 1.75" from the wall...I was hoping to get a little closer if possible. I am sure the fitment is very good with the OEM mount, though. |

i just installed a 5050 with the Sanus vmsa, it has tilt, extension and roll so not the model you're looking for... BUT, the mount is built very solidly, fit is perfect and instructions very clear. im sure the rest of their mounts follow the same pattern, highly recommended.

Thanks MNbri. As it turned out, in fact I ordered a Sanus fixed mount this morning. It did seem to be well made and I have had good luck with Sanus products in the past.
I'll post back once I get the item and have it installed. BTW, how do you like your 5050? |

I mounted my Panny 50U with a Peerless Smartmount, SF660. It comes with two types of brackets, a thin one that gets you less than 1.25 from the wall and another that gets you a little over 1.25 from the wall.

I installed a Sanus VMPL2b. Very simple and sturdy design. Perfect fitment. Only 1.25" from wall. All for about $100 from an online seller.

If that gray box under the mantle is full of electronics, you've got a problem... it's sitting right in front of the heat outlet from your Heatilator fireplace insert & will see quite high temps...

Your install looks good (fixing cables), but many don't think about the heat issue. Or difficulty running power & signal cables thru masonry chimney...
