Default Pioneer Kuro blurred edges! Help?

I have the PDP-5020FD and I just bought it yesterday from Best Buy. It was a display model with 216 hours on it when I bought it (I got a good deal).

I bought the 4 year warranty with it too.

Right when we set it up and brought it home, I noticed the edge blurring especially on news tickers like so:

P L A N E C R A SHED INTO HELIC O P T E R ; 9 D E A D .
(exaggerated)

It's not just with tickers BTW. It happens with every picture and is especially noticable when there are slow swooping shots in movies.

(I have links to pictures but not enough posts)

The blur is very annoying and it's happening on our new plasma. Is there a way to fix this in the TV settings? When we bought it, BB lost the remote so they gave us a universal one and we can't program it to get into the TV menu. BB ordered a new Pioneer remotes for us, but it won't be here for a while.

Solutions? Is it a simple setting fix, or is it a defective set?

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like it is on a screen format that stretches more near the sides than the center to fill the whole screen. It is what is called the fish bowl effect that some displays show when using this screen format mode. I have seen this with some of my displays and it is horrible, but my Panasonic plasma is so good with this "JUST" mode it has that I it is damn hard to even see it even with tickers.

You should be able to get into the menus from the menu button on the actual TV itself to change this, but I do not own a Pioneer plasma so hopefully someone who does can help further.

Good luck & welcome to the forum!

Its in panorama mode....when the remote comes set it to dot to dot or auto, not sure which with that model and it should be a pixel to pixel transfer of the digital data..........there is nothing wrong with the set
