What is HD?

I'm looking for a television in the $300-500 range with a 3.5 mm output jack, ATSC tuner, and HDMI input(s). I was thinking about either getting a Sharp LC 32SB27U or Sharp LC-37SB24U. I am hesitant to buy the 37 inch because it appears that it is somewhat dated and it is not even an Aquos television. Will this really make any difference? I'm not set on a Sharp television, but I don't want to go with an Insignia or another low quality brand. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Likely to use headphones with the TV, but even so, the option you mentioned is chock full of win...
