Default Help: Sony Bravia 32'' LCD TV - Can't get happy w/ picture quality

Maybe the TV just has a bad picture... idk.

Does anyone else have this TV and enjoys a nice crisp picture?

It seems that most of the screen's picture is either blurred to a point where it looks kind of like an old fashioned TVs... so for kicks and giggles I googled reviews on the TV and a lot of people enjoy the TV and say it has a great picture.... however I can't convince myself that it is a good picture.

Am I doing something wrong w/ the picture control settings? I've jacked w/ them so much and couldn't find a happy picture for my life. Its too late to take this TV back so I need to make it work until we get a new one.. (We want bigger... )

Anyone else have any tips on how to adjust the contrast/brightness/sharpness/color/color hue options to optimize this TV's picture and make it the best? The picture is just absolutely horrible! Our 15 year old Sony 22'' has a way better picture and I enjoyed games/movies on it way more.

I thought of that too but after reading reviews I'm convinced that theres a lot of people out there that like this TV.

I think your spam image is very disrespectful in this case as I'm really frustrated and seeking help.

Don't pay attention to that poster. THEY are the spammers.

You should provide the actual model number so people who DO have the same display can tell you their settings to help you get in the range.

Welcome to the forum!

It also will help a lot if you have a HD source. SD just doesn't look too good on a HD TV.

Alright I'll look up the model number later. (I'm about to head out now and don't have time.)

I got a much better picture watching DVD's w/ my xbox 360 using the Component Plugs (Green, Blue, Red)....

I'm a complete TV noob and have no idea what is different about component versus the standard red, yellow, white TV inputs... someone care to enlighten me?

If I watched DVDs off my 360 using an HDMI cable would the picture be even better?

If I watched standard TV using component and/or HDMI cable would hte picture be better? If I recall, it woudln't, because you have to order special HD channels that play in HD.... which we can't really afford right now.

Standard TV picture is utter crap and looks really fuzzy.... The model is a KS-(forgot, too tired to look) but its 32''.

I'm learning more and more about how TVs and High Def works....

Only a few questions now, making new thread though as its way off-topic to this.

I'm a complete TV noob and have no idea what is different about component versus the standard red, yellow, white TV inputs... someone care to enlighten me? yellow (composite) is only capable of delivering 480i (red and white are for audio) whereas component is capable of delivering 1080 lines of resolution. Although the numbers don't seem to display it, that is up to 6 times the resolution of 480 (composite).

If I watched DVDs off my 360 using an HDMI cable would the picture be even better? Probably not. HDMI and component are both capable of delivering 1080. On some devices HDMI has an advantage where component is restricted to 720.

If I watched standard TV using component and/or HDMI cable would hte picture be better? If I recall, it woudln't, because you have to order special HD channels that play in HD.... which we can't really afford right now. Depending on the source like DVD for example, if you have a progressive scan player you will see 480p with component which is a noticible difference when compared to 480i which is the best resolution you can get from composite.

Standard TV picture is utter crap and looks really fuzzy.... The model is a KS-(forgot, too tired to look) but its 32''.

Did that help?
