Default Flat panel break-in procedure?

Hello everyone, hope you had a great 4th of July!

My brother is about to receive his brand new flat panel LCD and have heard a few people talk about break-in procedures for new flat panels. What is the standard break-in procedure for an LCD HDTV? Thank you, Techlord.

None needed for LCD. You can still get images retained as a ghost but it is almost never permanent, and is hard to have happen unless you leave a stic image on for a long time.

I'm one who has that rare image retention on my PC gaming LCD, it go's away after a few days of being unpluged from the wall.

I do not think Breaking in a LCD will do much as the reason to do it for the first 1-200 hours with a plasma has to do with the phosphors during that first 1-200 hours. Since LCD does not have phosphors I do not think there is anything you can do to stop that crystal twist memory you get.

This is what you have been experiensing with your LCD when you have a static image on the screen for a long time. The crystal remembers the sate it was in for a long time and stays in that position until you unstick it.
