I to was unsure about buying big purchases online, but after my experience with Amazon I will never buy local again! You still get the 30 day return policy (if purchased from Amazon) as with any other chain store, no price haggling.

Best deal is either..

1. Online (low prices, no tax in some areas and free shipping offers)
2. TV Shopping Networks (4-5-6/flex pay /free/pickup return in 30 days and free shipping offers)
3. Retail (you can get ASAP!)

Costco gives you at least 90 days return, plus more for some products.
No price haggling either, and you don't have to wait. But you pay taxes.
...I buy from both...and they are both very good depending on what's selling.

hello
well i do not think there is any one whose not taking tax for the product selling...
TAX is mandatory how ever there may be a chance he include the tax price in the total price of the product and tells you that we are not taking any taxes..

Not totally true...some internet dealers do require state taxes. Of course, they typically apply for the state of the dealer location.
Other states have formed a consortium which some dealers have agreed to, and apply tax to those specific states.
Online purchases are notoriously under-reported, as might be expected.
CA among other states requires such purchases to be reported by their residents. Most these laws have little teeth, and most states do not audit internet dealers, so many folks end up sliding by. This may change in the near future, but they have been saying that for some time.

Considering the prices of places like Amazon, it would appear it does not make much difference either way, even if they are paying taxes which likely they are where their warehouses are located.
And if you look at the major stores like Sears, Best Buy, etc.. most all do apply state tax since they have businesses in every state...and yet their prices are rarely cheaper except for 'internet specials'.

I am hardly an expert on this subject...but based on the 'last threat' from our 'governator' to collect taxes, I did some research.
