Yeah LG and Sharp and just about every major brands offer high to low end models.

I'm not saying you should avoid them, all I was pointing out is just don't think that because it has Sharp or Sony on the bezel that it is automatically going to be the best. They are nice and decent tv's but just because it has Sony on it doesn't make it automatically better than Vizio or Toshiba. And in many cases Vizio's models such as the VO will perform close to the level of Sony's higher end models. For example Toyota makes Lexus but it also makes a Camry. Camry is a fine car in it's own right but it's no Lexus and just because it's made by Toyota doesn't mean that Lexus and Camry's are going to be on the same level but at the same time doesn't mean the Camry isn't a quality car.
Does that make sense?

As far as Westinghouse and Olevia is concerned. I wouldn't automatically rule them out. They have some decent performing models, alot of people are generally happy with them but they are what they are. If it's connectivity and PQ suite you then I say there is no reason not to get one. Some of their models have received some pretty solid Prof. reviews, I would just do my homework on them .

But as I stated in my other post if you are looking to get the best PQ and connectivity for your dollar then I still say the Vizio VO series accomplishes that.

Actually, I've read a couple of very good reviews of Westinghouse LCD's. Good quality picture for the low price. One was in Widescreen Review which was very in-depth. I would say more negative reviews for Sharp. I've always like Toshiba for customer service and overall reliability. Panny too of course.
Like you said, there's lots of research to do, for me that's part of the fun too. There's never a bad time to learn.

Yeah I see alot of bad reviews on Sharps as well.

I agree a first the research was very intimidating but watch things started to make sense and you started to understand all the techy TV talk it became soo much fun and very addictive.
I still drive my wife nuts and I've had my TV for over a year now.

This looks very interesting; especially if it lives up to the Eco standard they advertise. Looking forward to comparing it with the VW series for picture quality -- they claim a higher contrast ratio and refresh rate on this model. Thanks for the link, must have just come-out. I had not seen this before.

If I'm not mistaken I think the Eco is online only, so I don't think you would be able to compare side by side in the store.

I believe Proscan is the higher end line by RCA. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, it must have just come out. I found a store near me that's listed as having it in stock so I went to check it out. Sadly, there were none on display. I asked an associate about it and he told me they had just got them in and haven't set up the display model yet. I'm really interested in seeing how it compares to the VW. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the VW until I saw this set.

I've heard nothing but great reviews about Vizio's. Great vibrant PQ, features, etc... The price also makes it tough to choose anything else.

Depends on the seating distance. For a 32 inch TV Id say you need to sit less than 5' away to get the full benefit.

I'm planning to check it out at a local Walmart this evening.

Costco has some mixed reviews on this model. Many buyers complained of a humming noise.

One thing that concerns me about the VW model, there were many comments on the Walmart site about this TV going bad right after the 1-year warranty expired. The ECO model looks very similar to the VW in spec (except the higher contrast and low power consumption), so I wonder if it has some of the same problems.
