Default Panasonic VIERA U1 series help topic

Hey guys, what`s up? I`m new around here, and I was looking for some advice/help.

1. I'll be sitting about 5 to 7 feet from the display.

2. It will be replacing a 14" flat CRT.

3. About 65 percent the time I'll be playing video games on it (a lot of PS3 games over HDMI, some Wii games over component, and a few PS2 titles via PS3) and the other 35 I'll be watching Blu-ray movies.

4. In the future hopefully, but not right now.

6. See 4

7. One window with blinds and curtains and two 40 watt bulbs overhead that is controlled with a light switch.

Alright, with that out of the way I'd like to explain my situation. I want to buy a 42" Panasonic VIERA G10 plasma. The only problem is Bestbuy doesn't carry the G10 series in the 42" model, and neither does Sears (Circuit City is out of the question because they went out of business near us). So, I'm going to call an electronics specialist store by us sometime this week to see if they either have, or can order, the G10 series in the 42" model. If they can't do either, should I buy the U1 series instead (because Bestbuy carries this model in the 42" size and they don't have the S1 series in the 42" model either)? I read on CNET that the G10 series is the best TV in the post-KURON world so far, and they said the S1 series is very simular to the G10 series except it doesn't have the THX mode (which is the reason why they rated the G10 so well), but they have yet to review the U1 series. I have no idea how the U1 series stands compaired to the G10 and S1 series. I can't find any reviews of it etither, so I thought some of you might be know about it.

Well, thanks for the future help. It is honestly much appreciated!

I actually never ordered anything online before (I don't have a credit card). That's the reason why I asked if I should get the U1 series if I was unable to get the G10.

If I can't get the G10, should I go with another TV instead of the U1?
