Playback of VCR tapes on a HDTV wouldbe an eye sore at best.

- I do have a cable box hooked up through HDMI and actually don't really care about VHS recording or for that matter recording at all. I just wanted to play movies on my DVD, so the solution was perfect.
Love my new 42" Vizio E420 and it also has WIFI and Apps (not used yet).
Thanks for all the help. Will be back, if need be!

Hi. I see this is an older forum, but I hope someone is still available to help me. I have a Sanyo tv model dp32242 with red-green-blue and red-white-ORANGE jacks on the back. I have a Magnavox dvd player model mdv2300 that has red-green-blue and red-white-YELLOW jacks on the back. I plugged the tv jacks into the corresponding colors on the dvd player (ORANGE to YELLOW), but I'm only getting a black&white picture! Great sound tho. Please help me get a color picture. . .
