I learned from the old Greek guy in My Big Fat Greek Wedding that Windex fixes everything.

The high tack is tough stuff if oversprayed. My buddy made one hell of a mess putting in a car headliner, but he was able to remove it all. Only one piece of chrome trim was scratched. (With a dry shop towel)

Try a microfiber cloth and distilled water. Avoid rubbing, try to push the adhesive off in a rolling motion.

Applying cold with an ice bag in a microfiber cloth may loosen the adhesive.

Heavy duty clear 3M packing tape applied to the adhesive may lift it off as well.

No matter what avoid rubbing the screen with a dry cloth.

Wouldn't the packing tape leave residue too?

Don't use Windex on a TV screen! The ammonia will etch the screen.

The trick is to get the tape to stick to the adhesive. If you use high quality tape and don't leave it on for long it leaves virtually no residue.

The true damage risk is that the adhesive has etched the top layer of the screen.

The ketones in the adhesive probably did etch the screen. Like hitting the screen with lacquer thinner. If it does not show while on, I'd stop there.

How many men became fathers or walked out of Vegas pennyless because they didn't know?
