Ok my TV was working fine and then the screen just disappeared and it had some green and red looking stuff on it. The sound was still working. Then it made a click and when I tried to turn it back on I am getting the 7 blinks. I opened the back of the system and the caps on mine are not bulging. Could they still be bad or could it be something else?

I'm new to the boards, but this thread really helped me. After my TV died yesterday and I was ready to spend $2,000 on a new one I decided to search around. I found this thread and sure enough after taking apart my TV I found the two popped capacitors. I ordered the two new ones tonight and will hopefully have them in by the end of the week.

I wish mine were popped so I could fix it. Mine look fine and all the fuses tested ok. Good luck with yours.

Ditto this. Does anyone have any suggestions for the next troubleshooting step?

I have a Philips 50PF7220A/37. I have a couple pics of the PDP P/S here. The first one is a close-up of the lower-lefthand corner showing two green LEDs: one lit (right); one not (left). I imagine that both of them are supposed to be lit. Could this direct someone to a potential fix?

Thanks,
The main board has 2 connectors to above the central board, that ic on the left side on the right side that is where ur plug ins for video and adio. After taking off the back panel disconnect both line connectors top and middle. Then unscrew this board look at it there may be dust or a crack on the back of that board. This is area sensitive if it was dropped or hit on back of cover. The part cost 139 from factory they will get it to you in 5-7 days.

My capacitors aren't bulging either. 4 blinks also. I may try replacing the cord. I've heard a couple people say that worked.

Found this forum from a Google search trying to resolve my blinking red light problem. Joined so I could see the picture posted early on. Thought I'd give it a try before tossing this POS out the window and getting something new.

Got the beast off the wall, undid the 43 Torx screws to remove the back cover and saw 2 blown capacitors exactly as pictured. I haven't soldered anyting since 7th grade shop class, so 8 screws later and I had the board on its way to Central Electronics in Lake Forest, CA to swap out the capacitors. They chared me $50 for parts and labor, which I thought was a fair deal for anybody working on a Sunday afternoon.

Thanks for all the troubleshooting help from those who suffered before me!

Default 37" Philips lcd red light blinking

I have a 37" Philips LCD TV 37PF9431D/37. When I try to turn it on I get a green light, then a click, then one long red blink, followed by 2 short red blinks. I have not been able to find anything for the blink codes. The tv is 5 years old, out of warranty...
I took it to a repair shop, they said it was a "small signal board" and would be $435 to fix! I did a little searching, found this site, took the back off, the capacitors look fine...any other thoughts?
