Default Panasonic Plasmas

Hello, I am looking into getting a new plasma hdtv, and would like to know what you guys think of the TH-58PZ800U at costco, for $2500

Also, what is the difference between this (800u) and the 850u?

The 800u is one of panasonics top tier TV's, that and the 850u. The 80u and 85u are also good tv's if its more in your budget but if you have the money to spend you can't go wrong with the 800u or 850u. Not real sure of the difference between the 2 but if you go to panasonics website they have all the tech info on both of them.

The only real difference is that the 850 has VieraCast, an IPTV feature. The 850 does not have THX mode where the 800 does, and a few other pretty insignificant features. Correct me if I am wrong.

That Costco deal is smoking good, and the PZ800U is a great TV. The 800U has the THX mode which is great for watching DVD movies, but the 850U has the "Studio Reference Mode" instead, and has more user-adjustable picture settings. There are a few other differences that i can't remember - bring up both TVs on Panasonic's COMPARE feature on the Panasonic home page and you'll see them listed on the comparison chart.

costco has some smoking deals-i just picked up a pioneer kuro 60" 6020fd from best buy-i used the costco price of $3799 to have best buy match it. if best buy wouldn't have, i would have gotten the tv from costco. when i looked at the panny plasmas, they looked excellent to me.
