Default Free Calibration Disc Download

I found this when looking for a calibration DVD I can download and burn. I am downloading it now so I'll let you know if it works. I found it hard to find a calibration disc I could download so I thought there might be some interest in this.

I can't get the link to work. It is on AVS forum. Look up AVS calibration disc

Update: I burned the .ISO image and it is running on my HDTV. Works great! It is a HD calibrator so settings work best with HD feed.

My apologizes on attempting to post an external link. AVS seems to be a reliable source but, I understand the situation. I thought I saw a list of "accepted" external sites that can be linked. Any truth?

They are actually quite easy to use. Although, it can be quite time consuming. Most discs included a .PDF or a manual to tell you about each test image. Basically, the disc gives you an image you then tweak your setting to fit in the optimal parameters(i.e. "Adjust black-levels until rows 20-35 are flashing). It is rather easy, just straining on the eyes. The end result is well worth it.

Agreed, it's worth printing out the file and following along. It's an education even if you can't get in there and tweak away at everything.

You can link to quite a few forum sites, just not AVS. Seems pretty stupid to restrict links. Anyway, just put a space in the URL to get around this "feature".

You will need color filters if you are going to attempt to adjust the color and tint.

I can finally put the 'blue screen' option to work on my display..have not tried the disk yet. The explanations in the text are almost as interesting.. nice find.
