Any one seen/heard about the new LG plasmas?
 

I'm deciding between the new LG 50PZ60 ($4800) and the Panasonic 50PHD6UY ($5100). I know that LG has been popular in Europe for awhile but I also know that Panny's are known for their great displays.
The LG comes w/ DVI port among other things while that is an extra charge w/ the Panasonic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LG is the same as Zenith basically. As a Zenith Home Theater dealer we are in the transition to the LG products. The word we heard is the Zenith product line will ultimately be the mass consumer line for Wal Mart, Best Buy, etc. and the LG product line will be the upscale line.

Yep. I was talking about the plasmas only. And who knows by the time they get their act together what LG will do. Right now they have all of the Texas home theater dealers in limbo. We have orders, but can not get product until LG signs off on the transition. They go through a couple of months without shipping, they could do anything.

Zenith had a policy of not allowing sales of their electronic products over the internet except through specific internet dealers, but there are a number of internet sites where you can buy the Zenith product. Sometimes they advertise prices that are lower than our cost even. They have admitted that the Zenith line can not be gotten under control, but have assured us that the LG line will be controlled. We shall see.
