Need help regarding viewing distance/screen size/HDR vs. FHD
Hey there people.
I'm planning on buying a new HDTV for my room, for using pretty much ONLY with a computer (my pc will be connected to 2 monitors - HDTV and a regular lcd computer monitor - for movies (1080p, 720p), some gaming, browsing, windows media center, etc...).
My viewing distance is about 7 feet (around 2.15m). I'm unsure on the following:
-size and definition: 32", 37" or maybe 40"? I can't fit more than 40" in the room, and less than 32" seems too small to me. My options are: 32" FHD, 32" HDR, 37" FHD, 37" HDR and 40" HDR. I'm really not sure whether I'll see a difference or not between a 37" FHD tv and a 37" HDR tv. I can say that I can display actual 1080p through my computer, even my most of my BR movies are encoded at 1080p resolution. But maybe there's no point in that because I won't see the difference. I should also point out that my eyesight for "far" distances is also not perfect (not too good and not too bad, let's say, it's okay). 37" HDR looks like a nice choice for now, I was thinking about the Samsung LA37R81B. But I could also get the LA40R81B for a bit more, but I guess 40" HDR for 7 feet is sort of too big. Maybe not though. I guess the optimal choice would be 40" FHD, but that doesn't fit in my budget (I don't live in the USA, and, for comparison, a standard 40" FHD hdtv costs about 2,000 USD here - yeah, that's alot.) So I'm left with the Samsung LA37R81B (37" HDR), Samsung LA40R81B (40" HDR), Samsung LA37A550 (37" FHD) and LG LG37LG50 (37" FHD).
