Samsungs lns4695d won't do 1080p w/blu-ray
Hello,
Maybe someone has experienced this problem. My Samsung LNS4695dx doesn't recognize the 1080P of my new Sony Blu-ray player. As my set is now out of warranty, all that Samsung can do is refer me for a 135 dollar service call. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated(BTW the tv is 1080P and I am using an HDMI for connections between the player and monitor. Thanks. AP |

Try upgrading the firmware in the in the Sony BD player and that may solve the HDMI handshake issue. Try that first, but if it doesn't work, then maybe there is a update for your display that you can check into at Samsung. Just ask for a level 2 tech since the first level of these companies don't usually know much.
If neither update solves the issue, then you could always just output 1080i and let the display deinterlace the signal. Your display should do a decent job with that. It might not be worth the cost of a repair to get it to accept a 1080p input, but I would be ticked off myself so I know how you feel. Welcome to the forum!
