plasma Because there 0.00001ms response time compared to at BEST LCD's 2ms response time which can potentially lead to image lag and blur or so of what i have learned.

What I've learned is that anything 8ms or faster is fine, I know because I have the Vizio 1080p 42" LCD and it's fine, plus with LCD, picture clarity is great, it's bright, and you don't see all the crap behind you like Plasma TV's do with their damn reflective screen.

I think there's a lot of competitive online games in which 8 ms would be a problem. A fast human response time is about 10 ms so if you add 8 ms on top of that you're handicapping yourself pretty bad.
2 ms should be possible to overcome on the other hand, but why do it to yourself? Definitely plasma if you compete online. |

FYI, I have now owned two LCD's and gamed on both.
Great TV's for gaming and I get no lag what so ever. 120Hz works wonders for motion blur. Last edited by s70driver; 11-22-2008 at 01:33 PM. |

I'm sitting here now watching my Panny pz80u, and don't have any problems with glare, and reflection. No difference to me than with my 52 inch LCD.I'm also at 5100' altitude, and don't have any problems with the screen making noises. Both LCD's & Plasma's have a lot of myths that need to be debunked, IMO. I would look at both display technology's and see which one YOU like the best!

Plasma has natural look to its motion and better black level performance so games will look just plain better. 120 Hz makes LCDs sharper on long shots, but I've noticed it introduces motion blurring on very fast motion. One easy thing to spot is how blurred out hands get when moving around fast w/ 120 Hz is on.

I have now had two LCD's with 120Hz and both look very good with motion and fast motion at that.
To be quite honest the motion of people on regular TV not in games looks so real it is absolutely ridiculous. Motion in games is good too. I have not had any issues with motion blur yet. |

Most Panny plasma's have a "game mode" which brightens up the screen a great deal. I tried playing Dead Space in THX mode and that didn't work so good. No blur, rich, deep colors on the Plasma and it looks fantastic in "game mode."
My parents also have a Xbox 360 hooked to their Samsung 46" LCD and it blurs BIG TIME. I have never tried hooking my XBox to my upstairs Sony and Panny LCD's....not sure if they blur or not. My Plasma is in the basement 58" 800U so no glare...plus it has an anti-glare screen. Being the owner of two LCD's (40" and 32"...both less than three months old) and the owner of a 58" Plasma (less than a month old) in a home environment, there is no question the Plasma is the better picture. I've heard others say the same thing here, but I am personal witness to it. If you can control the light, go Plasma. Also, Plasma's reflect less than older Projection or CRT TV's so if you are coming from this, and not an LCD, you'll never notice any glare in the first place. |

I find the only real thing that bothers me about a plasma is the reflections with bright light, and if direct, a washed out picture. Other than that, I own 2 plasmas now and have gamed on my 37" for the last 3 years, and now game on my 65". I own a Sony LCD also, and if you can control the lighting, plasma is the way to go.
