Any other thoughts?
No protection plan I assume?

is it possible than since my component board / input there could be other defects in the TV? Does defects go hand in hand with other flaws?

thanks

You have 2 choices IMO since you used YOUR component cables with the test on your freinds display and have ruled out the cables and the 360 as the source of the issue. It is highly likely that it is oyur display that is the problem, but it COULD be the cables are too close to the power cables for some devices. I suggested you move the component cables away but did not see if you tried this. You SHOULD try this as it costs nothing but a couple of minutes max with no cash outlay.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then it is the component inputs on the display and you need to either bite the bullet and bring it to the store to exchange it, or have Panasonic send a tech to fix it under warranty.

YOU have to make that decision, but i would exchange it myself.

Good luck!

Just simply MOVE the 360's component cables cables physically further away from ALL power cables going to the 360 or any other device near it. See if while moving the component cables away if it changes the static lines on the screen too.

You could also make sure that the 360 is plugged into the same outlet as the display to eliminate any groung loop issues.

Please don't tell me you are part of the "Monster Ripoff" crew... $100+ for HDMI cables (even $50 for that matter) is not good advice. Not saying Moster and other wayyyyyyyy overpriced cables are not great quality, just a ripoff.... And not saying there are low quality cables out there as well. But you can get the same quality with a $15 monoprice or simular HDMI cable.. No question about it.

Well to start off with the component cable is far off the power cable of the 360...

does that mean my tv is defective? Bestbuy is okay with me returning it...

Did you try moving the component cables to see if it changed the lines on the display at all? It would be much easier to help you IF you do what we ask as part of the troubleshooting process instead of just asking more questions.

Maybe it is best to just exchange it and see if you have the problem with the next one. If you still have the problem THEN it is how your display is set up.

I'm really really confused on moving the component cables. I mean which part do I move? The wires? I did move it a little to the left away from the Xbox's power chord and it still showing the red lines. Treat me like a programmable robot right now, tell me EXACTLY how to move the component cables because right now moving it will doesn't work maybe I'm doing it wrong. I mean if its as simple as moving the wires away from the power chord then its obviously not working but i don't know I might be missing something.

Yeah. What you did is what I wanted you to try. It looks like it IS a defective input at the least and possibly more is wrong. Just exchange and you should be fine.
