I take it this is your suggestion because I'd be getting a few more options -- and therefore, a slightly better set -- for the same amount of $$$?

Now, I see that that the TH-50PE8U is available online at Best Buy for the same price...shipped to my door, no less. (Not feeling so lucky anymore.) And of course, I'm now discovering that it's not the set I thought I was getting...2 HDMI inputs instead of 3, lower contrast, etc. And, I'm seeing that the TH-50PX80U is available at places like newegg for roughly the same $960 (after tax) I paid at the local BB for the stripped down version.

I haven't even picked it up from BB yet. So the choices are to:

1) Keep the Black Friday set

2) Return the Black Friday set and snatch up the TH-50PX80U online for the same price

3) Return the Black Friday set and hang out until prices drop again after Christmas/Super Bowl. I'm really in no rush.

4) Or? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
I was in the same situation and went with option #2. I bought the Samsung 50A400 on BestBuy.com for $800 but then realized the tv was a BF special. I canceled the order and just ordered the PX80U. I paid $950 for it on 6ave -- could have got it for $900 with a 5% off coupon code that just expired this morning but oh well.

The price has actually gone up in the last couple of days. It was selling for $936 on Oct 16 so I don't think it's going to drop much in the near future. I didn't get a killer deal that I was hoping for, but the tv has received a lot of rave reviews so I'm happy I chose it.

I followed Loves2Watch's advice and your lead, bank5. I returned the BF set to BB, and snatched up the $950 TH-50PX80U on 6th Ave. 6th Ave's return policy -- or lack thereof -- makes me nervous, because there's no changing my mind now. But this is the set I've been reading about for months, and it was time to pull the trigger.

I'm even at peace with the fact that the price will probably go even lower tomorrow or the next day now that I've bought mine.
