well, anyway, can you show me the best surge protector out there, that doesnt rely on MOV's and is under 100 bucks if you could?

Rather then a surge protector, I recommend a UPS. The UPS serves two purposes. First it acts as a filter for line voltage so to speak and protects your equipment as the battery would be the first thing to get hit if the circuitry failed, not your expensive equipment. As I posted in another thread, I cannot count the amount of times expensive surge protectors and line conditioners (Monster) have failed and rendered the persons equipment useless.

Now I don't know about you but I would rather not go through the process of replacing my nice equipment if damaged even if there is a warranty on the equipment from the surge protector manufacturer.

Many companies make them for under $100 and I haven't seen one brand being better than another. APC, Belkin, Ultra and a few other companies all make UPS units that work very well.
