Thanks for all the help guys...

After looking at what feel like 1,000 TVs, I finally make a decision. I bought a 46' Panasonic 1080p Plasma for $1407.24 out the door. The TV was originally $1,800 + tax so I feel I got a pretty good deal. I'm sure I could have got it cheaper online, but I'm always scary of large purchases online.

So far I'm very pleased although the HD from DirecTV will be here today, so it should get better.

I do have one final question; I have a standard DVD player with the super cheap RCA cables it came with 4 years ago. The picture from the DVD is actually were that SD from DirecTV. If I upgrade the RCA cables will I get a better picture, or is it not worth it? I do not have an HDMI output on the DVD player and I'm getting a Blu-ray player for Christmas.

Does that DVD player have component video connections (red, blue, green plugs) or at least S-Video? Component would be the best connection and S-video would be second but either is better than composite (yellow connection) with red and white for audio. Try one of these methods for connection until you get your new Blu ray player.

BTW if you need cables now or for your new Blu ray player (HDMI) here is a place that has high quality cables at rock bottom prices - www.monoprice.com

Almost forgot - Congrats on your Panasonic TV purchase. I'm sure it will deliver an outstanding picture for your enjoyment for years to come.
