Default Need help with finding low budget LCD minimal motion blur for 360 games

I recently bought a Samsung LN32A330 from Wal Mart. I owned an older model that didn't have motion blur issues, but it met with an unfortunate "accident", and suffice to say, here I am, with a newer model, albeit a cheaper one, and I can definitely tell a difference.

I previously returned a Sharp 32 that had horrible banding issues in addition to motion blur problems. Recalling from what I'd read previously on the internet about Samsungs, that M$ worked with them to produce a special "game" mode for the purpose of reducing blur etc, in addition to my experience working as a QA tester where it seemed multiple companies were using Samsung models, I thought the best route would naturally be a Sammy.

I lucked out with my first unit which was a refurb at $600 (previously $1700 retail). Boy can I tell a difference in manufacturing quality between that generation and the 330 I picked up at Wal Mart. Not a huge surprise there of course. I was at least expecting the Game Mode to be present, but nope, completely absent from the unit's menu structure (which is even more infuriating because they put a damn sticker on the display model that reads "Game Mode"). So now I have noticeable blur issues with movement on games. DVDs and even analog don't look that bad (no blu-ray or HD programming yet) compared to the 360 feed.

Short of being able to hook my 360 to a display unit at Wal Mart I don't think that I'm ever fully going to nip this one in the bud. I'm sick of the trial-and-error method. I'm starting to feel like a doofus for returning this many (not as bad as the one other member here who retured 8 to BB). I was considering a low-end Sony Bravia that Wal Mart is selling, but then again, I really have no idea what it'll look like till I get it home. Maybe I should just lug my 360 into the store and ask some electronics supervisor if I can hook it up to several units to compare (fat chance, right?)

I don't feel like going through this routine again more than once. Any suggestions on good low-end models ($500-700 range) that have proven minimal motion blur on consoles would be very appreciated. Sorry for the long winded post. I feel like I'm letting off steam here.

And yes, I've tried disabling noise reduction and all those fancy "features" that Sammy's have shoved into them.

Get the Vizio VP322. Then you won't have to deal with any Motion Blur. You'll just have to "Clean" your screen after each gaming session (another "feature"), lol.

Maybe he should consider a 42" 720p Panasonic plasma as they have almost no image retention, and look great with no motion blur.

But it is $100.00 more than his high end range at $800.00 here:

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Vier.../dp/B00142HLV4

It would give him a larger size, better PQ with no motion blur or image retention issues. I would say that is worth $100.00 more in this case.

I considered plasma initially with a 32 Vizio model but decided against it since it was so dim in comparison to the LCD. now i'm thinking that the only way i'll get little to no motion blur with an LCD display is with buying the upper-end models. guess plasma would be the best bet for me now. i'd be willing to sacrifice brightness for no motion blur. i've heard good things about panasonic and their little-to-no-motion-blur issues. Thanks for the tip! I'd be willing to consider other solutions also if anyone else has any suggestions.

I have a Vizio VU37L and I have no motion blur at all! Sd picture is not the best but HD and games on my 360 xbox are perfect. The VU37L will make it into your budget range and I bought mine at Sears. Walmart Vizios in some models are lacking a couple of features found on comparable other Vizio models but my son just bought a 42" LCD from Walmart that seems to have complete feature list and it was $890. It has no motion blur and is a nice tv. Good Luck on whatevere you get.
