Default Mitsubishi LT3050 flat panel LCD 30 inch

I just purchased a Mitsubishi LT 3050 flat panel lcd that looks great. RC WIlley has 11 left in the country at their sale closeout price of 2899, originally most stores are selling them for 4,000. I did see some reviews on Sharp first, but the Mitsubishi got my attention. Now I am worried because no one seems to discuss the Mitsubishi here and I want to know how it compares to the Sharp and Samsung. I did see more favorable reviews for the Mitsubishi vs the others, but they were all PC sites. I hope I didn't make a mistake...of course it's too late now, I got open box for 2599. Still, I want to know the truth, is it inferior in some way to a comprable sized Sharp or Samsung? I know they have a new model coming out from Mitsubishi, that's why they're on closeout, but the new model will be quite a bit more. Please advise? I just want to know how it compares.

Hi there, if its too late, then there's no point worrying!! I just ordered a Sharp LC-32D5U from ECost for $2050 plus shipping. (for my daughter in Washington DC) Could well be your Mitsubishi is a better TV.. so hard to tell. Sometimes you just go by trust of a model. Mitsubishi is a *great* TV...I know..I have a 3 year old rear-projection, model 55857. It is a very good TV. I have no desire to sell it or give it away to get a flat panel!! Anyhow, enjoy your TV!!!

Oh, one other thing..for the Sharp I have ordered: prices ranged wildly, from $2050 all the way to $3000, online!!! Problem with Mitsubishi is that its not discounted much. You don't have an off-the-air ATSC tuner or an HDMI input, but if you have cable or satellite that point is moot anyhow. For my daughter an ATSC tuner was very important, as she only has basic cable and it would be great to buy an antenna and be ready for HD.

Default Mitsubishi 3050 lcd flat panel

Well the tv is hooked up to Dish now, and I can't believe it. 720p through the DVI looks like nothing I have ever seen on any tv, even on demos at the best stores. Same with 720p for DVD on a Denon. Unbelievable. 1080i isn't as dense as the 720p, very clear sharp perfect!! Perfect whites, detail, etc. Unreal. You can get a tuner for 200 dollars and that way when it goes out of current market, you can easily upgrade. These Mitsubishis will be on sale for the new model coming out, I recommend nothing else. I didn't see the whites as white as this on any other lcd. Amazing! Not a trace of glare. Portable and so sweet and just gorgeous. I am delighted. Last i knew they were 2999 at RC Willey and will go down everywhere soon.

I have the new 52 inch Mitsu LCD and only paid $3000. At Home Theatre. Sorry to say- you paid too much. Excellent TV by the way. Except it is in the shop now for a minor problem of shutting off by itself once a week.

Price is cheap for the quality and size. Unbelievable black levels. Retail price much higher. Cheaper than the Sony XBR, and they don't cook like this one!
