Default Vizio or Magnavox LCD in the 42 inch range?

I went to Sam clubs to pick up a 42 inch Vizio to find out that it was replaced by the Magnavox 42 inch. Long story short I ended up going with the 47 inch Vizio, because I wasn't sure about the magavox. I'm wondering everyones opinions on these tv as far as quality is concerned as I had an HP LCD that only lasted a year. I might return the 47 inch vizio and get either the 42 or 47 Magnavox if they are of good quality in comparision.

Here are the models I'm looking at:

47" Vizio LCD 1080p HDTV VO47L -
42" Magnavox LCD 1080p HDTV 42MF438B/27 -
47" Magnavox LCD 1080p HDTV 47MF437B/37 -

I got the latest model 50" Plasma Full HD 1080P Vizio VP504F from Sam's last week and I'm very impressed with it. It is a beautiful set, easy on the eyes and my wallet.

You should have gone to Costco if you wanted the 42" 1080p Vizio, they have it for $999. Sam's club is still trying to get rid of their 42" 720P vizios.
With Costco you get 2 years of warranty.
Vizio is more dependable that Magnavox IMO.

Unfortunately I'm not a member at Costco, and it would have been 50 bucks to join bring the price difference I got the 47 inch vizio for to only around 250 or so. I think I'm going to stick with the 47 inch vizio, but wanted to check on the quality of the 42 magnavox

I got my costco membership just to buy the tv, which was worth it, since costco extends the manufacturer's warranty by one year.

I purchased a Magnavox 42inch from Costco online almost 12 months ago. the unit is in for it's 3rd (yes 3rd repair) all of which have been faulty power units. i suspect that the problems goes deeper than the power unit and something else is causing the power unit to fail. However I'm fed up with this piece of s**t, which has been out of my possession for more than a month, in less than 12month of ownership, and have asked for a refund. Watch this space for an update

I've had a Vizio GV47L for about 10 months now and I'd recommend Vizio in a heartbeat.

I've had a Magnavox 37 inch LCD for 2 years without a problem. I am looking at the Magnavox 42 incher as a living room upgrade. Under $800 is hard to beat.

One thing I love about Magnavox is the almost complete lack of reflection.
