Samsung PN58A550 won't zoom!!!

i looove this TV... but on some inputs the Zoom feature is not selectable! I watch DVDs and blu rays through my PS3 connected via HDMI and i cant zoom the picture.. and I like to zoom to get rid of the black bars, which I could do with my previous DVD player using an AV input. But now that im using my PS3,, it won't let me zoom,, or on the PC input.. anyone know how to get around this?

I don't think the PS3 has a zoom feature and if the Sammy's zoom is not selectable there's not much you can do about that. Most of us have gotten use to the black bars and just don't pay attention to it. At least you know you're getting the full image of the movie with no lost information.

I'm not positive about this , but I don't believe a blu ray 1080p signal can be zoomed to fill the whole screen . Panasonic has a blu ray player with a zoom feature , but I think it only works with upconverted standard def dvds . If your Sammy zoom works with standard def dvd players in the same input , I'd say the culprit is the input signal not your set .

The zoom feature is only for 480i/p sources I believe. With HDMI you can only use, wide fit, just scan and 4:3. There is more details about it in the manual.
