Default HDMI connectivity w/ Sony KDL...Z4100

1) What cables shopudl I buy to take advantage of Sony KDL...Z4100 HDMI spec? Apparently there are (at least) 2 HDMI standards; I may be wrong.
Use case: Connectivity w/ Cable Box (assume HDMI output), DVD player and (future) Blue Ray player.

2) Any special audio conectivity considerations between these components and (add also) 5.1 receiver.

(I spot checked the "cables.." messages and could not see 'direct' comments to my question.)

Many thanks in advance.

Just buy HDMI cables from monoprice.com or similar.
They will work just fine.

there are two ratings on cables but they don't really matter at this point. Also, as far the the two standard go, the TV and receiver matter more than the cable. Any cable will transfer at 1.3 speeds so long as the devices it is connected are compliant. Putting a sticker on a cable that says it will work with 1.3 is like the stickers you see on DVDs sometimes that advertise the movie will play on a playstation or xbox.

You will likely get better picture quality through component cables. HDMI should only be used for 1080p content that requires HDCP.

Aha ... " ... HDMI should only be used for 1080p content that requires HDCP." <-- with this, connecting blue rey requires HDMIs then; am I correct? ... BTW: why? and ... what is HDCP?

In addition, please ... would I need HDMI 1.3 cable? What is the difference between 'standard" and 1.3 HDMI cables? Could they be interchanged?

Kindly appreciate your further comments.
