Default Wall Mounting 32" Flat Panel...Help!

Just bought an off brand 32" Ascent/Protron flat panel for a very good price. I am upgrading from an older 20" flat panel that was mounted to my wall using an Omnimount QM100F which is VESA compliant and is good for 13" to 24" tv's and 40lbs. The 32" weighs in at 38.1lbs and only seems to have a template for a VESA 75 (holes are 4" apart in a square and there's actually some sort of box with a handle screwed into the back of the TV where a mount would go) - looks like there's no other screw holes for any other type of mount?

Should I try to use this mount since it's already in a stud OR should I get another VESA mount that can hold more weight/larger TV. I called Omnimount and they said that the TV size and weight both have to be considered when mounting a TV and this mount was not recommended.

Any suggestions?

I recommend VANGUARD VM-230 max 50lbs VESA 75/100 15"-32"
It does come with the mounting screws for the LCD planel and plenty of items for success installation.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was actually looking for a flat mount, but this will work well to mount the 20" TV I am moving into the kitchen.

Still trying to find out if the Omnimount I have will work.

Thanks for all the great advice, I'm still curious, as to if I can use the Omnimount (holds up 40lbs 13" to 24" tv) that I already have on my wall.

I saw some inexpensive flat mounts on monoprice.com, but not sure why I couldn't just use my mount?

Does the screen size of the TV really effect the choice of mount if both are VESA compliant? I thought the weight would be the concern and my new 32" is 38.1 lbs.

Well the tv weighs 38 lbs. and your mount you have will take sets up to 40 lbs, what is the problem, use the mount you have..........
