Default Should LCD backlight be on maximum setting?

Wassup fellas! really quick question....i have a samsung lcd tv and simply would like to know if it's cool to have the backlight on it's highest setting? Thanx....

Why would you... no, I highly don't suggest it
-Shorten the LCDs lifespan
-Uses more energy
-Likely to cause eye strain after extended viewing.

Should be set as low as possible for good pic, save energy on elec. bill

It is much cooler to have it set as low as you can have and still have a great picture.

on scale of 1-10 (10 being brightest
for daytime backlight 6
night 3or 4.

energy saving + better picture is the result of better backlighting.
