Default Sharp Aquos LC46D64U Firmware update

Has anyone enjoyed success in updating the firmware provided by Sharp? When I tried, and yes, I followed the instructions to the letter, the tv would power down (as it's supposed to) but then it would go into what seems an endless loop of trying to reboot. The power and "OPC" led flash and the only way to manually power up is to unplug the usb flash drive first. When I checked the status, the firmware remains the older version.
Can anyone help? I e-mailed Sharp's tech support, but am impatient for an answer. Thanks.
