What is HD?

I have a Sony 32" standard def, 4:3. I want to replace it with a HDTV, but it is in a furniture cabinet that is only 35" wide. All of the LCD HDs that are 37" diagonal are 36" wide or more. It seems like HDTVs go from 32" to 37". I know Sony makes a 37" LCD rear projection that is only 35.4" wide, but that is about 3/4" too wide for this cabinet. I looked at 36" CRT HD, but they are also too wide. I could replace it with a 32" LCD HD, but then the screen is much smaller than a 32". Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your advice. |

Well if the TV has to go into that small opening then you're screwed, and stuck with a little 32" screen size. Other options may be to modify the cabinet so it can accept a larger TV, or maybe use an articulated arm mount bolted to the wall at the rear of the opening to suspend the TV in front of the opening, or just locate the TV somewhere else in the room.
