Hello Everyone,
I have a Sharp LC-46D43U LCD TV. I think this is a entry level for large lcd tv's. With the volume all the way up at 60, my wife and I could barley hear the tv. I was playing around in the menu and some how have the volume at almost twice the volume. What I did was: Go into the menu Go to option Go to output select and change from fixed to variable and back to fixed. You may have to do this a few times. Sometimes the volume goes loud after 1 try and sometimes it may take 10 or 20 tries. But if I change any settings, even the AV mode the sound goes back down to where it was. Has anyone done this, did it work for you. I don't know very much about electronics and I have now ideal why this happens. I wonder if this is just something with my tv or if it is a Sharp problem. The service tech came out to check the low sound on my Sharp Aquos LC-46 D 43U. He told me they have had other calls for this on Sharp and Visio TV’s. Said they changed 2 circuit boards, updated the firmware and nothing changed. The firmware he downloaded on the internet and said the TV would not even recognize it. He then had me unplug the TV with it still on and went behind the TV where the a/v plugs are and held something while I plugged the TV back in and the service menu came up. I have no ideal what all is in the service menu. Then I showed him how I got the volume level to double. He had never seen this before. He then called sharp and explained what he did and everything else and sharp ask him if he tried the fixed to variable and back to fix on the other sets with low volume and he told him no, he did not know about it. Anyways sharp told him to order the main board and sound board. Now have to wait for the boards to come in. This TV has a great picture and I hope it’s still as good after they replace these circuit boards. (I don’t gamble because I have misplaced my GOOD LUCK.) |

I have Sharps 46D64u. Don't know if this affects you but I have the TV's audio OFF. I use my receiver. However I did check the volume of the TV and found it to be fine. Good surround.
