Default HELP! Take it back for the same thing or get another brand? Vizio? Sylvania?

So some of you may remember this thread:

Just bought a 26-inch Insignia and it's got some backlight bleeding..

Well, with your help I've deemed my TV as defective, so I'm either taking it back to Best Buy and getting the same thing hoping the new one wont have the same problem or getting my money back and getting a new set somewhere else? What do you think I should do? Get another Insignia or go for another brand?

I'm looking for yet another 26-inch if I'm going to go with another brand. How's the 26-inch Vizio? There's also a Sylvania 26-inch on sale for $399 this week that I'm considering? Or am I missing some other decent brands?

I got my Insignia for $380 or so and don't really mind spending more if I have to. I just want the best 26-inch for the buck.

So what would you recommend I do?

The 26" Vizio is ... okay, the colors seems a bit 'blah' though I thought. Walmart recently raised the price of the Vizio $20. Don't know anything about Sylvania and Olevia looks pretty good if you want to stay in that price range.

Kmart has the 26-inch Sylvania on sale right now for $399.

Here are the specs for it:

Should I go for this one? Looks pretty awesome for the price!

Watch out, this set only has 90 day warranty on labor.
With all the problems we've been hearing about them, could be a very high risk investment. Let's face it, if the manufacturer is cutting back on the warranty . . . . something ain't right.

Don't let Scotty Image Resolution Expert 1900 x 1280 above scare you off about FUNAI with 90 days Labor if they have extra protection plan cheap get it or not that's optional... There is a alot of Toshiba product made by FUNAI also. Kmart is far from me since there is only 1 store now! I'll have to go during lunch at work.. Thanks for the tip! I see it has CPPE and PC input. I wanted to replace my two monitors 19" HD Widescreen and 19" Pivit (P/L View) Type. I have on my desk here with a larger monitor with SD/HDTV features. I felt 32" would have been to big. 26" is better.

Tipstir, 90% of your posts mention the Funai brand. do you work for them? The Sylvanias are honestly not that great from the three years of returns I have seen trying to sell them. They are returned 5x more than any TV brand I have sold at sears. As recently as two months ago I had one returned dead in the box when the customer opened it. I wouldn't recommend the sets to anyone, when there are other options in the price range. The 42" I recommended to you was the only 42" at that price range, at regular price on the unit I would be the Vizio everytime.

Get the Vizio, its a great set from a great manufacturer at a great price.

No, I've told you who I was.. I guess you forgot.. I've check with the folks who I know at Wal-Mart where they cell the Emerson version of Funai the 37" really didn't come back as much. I can't say that the ones that Sears and Circuit City carries come back on not. As with all TVs they do get return. Right now a lot of people can't buy sets that are over $1,000. I could sell a lot of Funai since I own one and know a lot about Funai Japan, unlike Funai New Jersey who don't really know what the heck they cell or carry. Funai CA is just as band. There marketing is terrible and the product are all over the place at Wal-Mart.

Sear pushes the Samsung like crazy.. I am not crazy about Samsung produces. SONY isn't any better. Philips does try but their outlet site tells more about how long their brand holds up.

The new limited Edition series is brand new for Funai USA, but the hum problem on the MOBO is not a good sign. Might be better to stick with non LES. But how come you have trouble selling them..

Could be your displays of it though. Why are the Samsung pushed more at Sears.

Well I don't know why they're doing that? I did see that myself when I got mine and got the extra protection to give me 2 years + 90 days on the labor. Otherwise it would cost $105 but that was last year it might be more on labor today. I really don' t want to think about having a guy come and fix stuff. As you know once that happen how long will it last.

SONY gives you more than a 1 year for all 3.
VIZO
and the rest... Well buy what you want.. But make sure you get extra protection for after that year is gone too. Just because it's 1 year is the really enough.?
