"Sharp I ve been mixed on these sets since I began researching HD up front they look great they certainly advertise enough, but I have seen several complaints with this brand due to a banding or striping effect some models were experiencing last year I'm sure this generation has cleared that problem and these new sets have great asthetic appeal if the problems have been addressed these may rank above or at least equal to the Samsung LCDs"
I love my 32" Sharp 1080p. But admit that if it weren't for the 32" size, I would of gone with a Samsung LCD if I went larger. |

Thanks to Pappylap and the other contributors to this thread. Though I'm not in the market for another set at this time I found the read informative....

or the dump. Point is manufacturers change over time, responding to different financial pressures. Also, there are different grades of product. Do your research, then go LOOK at the picture with a critical eye and take your best shot. Kinda like a steak, every once in a while you get a tough one.

It is really odd that he is agreeing to a post that is over 2 months old and a suggestion that is already a reality...but how does that make him a spammer?
I guess I'm not sure of what would constitute a spammer in a forum like this. I know what spam is as pertaining to email, is it the same definiton when applied to forums?

I am Noob! Thanks for this.
A few questions, My kids have the Wii (I never, ever play it) and we have an Xbox and will be moving to an Xbox 360 once I can sneak it past my wife! Anyway, I have been reading tons and it seems that LCD are better for gaming due to burn in. I am a Costco member and looking at the Vizio 46in LCD for 1399 which seems like a great TV for the price. However Costco is now offering a Panasonic Plasma which I saw everyone here said was also great model 505000 and it is on sale at 200 off and I have another 300 off from costco....What should I do? |

I wouldn't shy away from plasma just because of gaming. Newer plasmas have such great protection against ir and burn-in that it's not as easy as it use to be to ruin the display. As long as your just a moderate gamer and not leaving a static image on the screen for hours at a time then you should be ok. Plasma would actually perform better than lcd in most cases when it comes to fast action games with alot of quick movement because you don't have as much motion blur or ghosting as you do in lcd.
