My problem is the 90 day labor warr by funai, but the pics on the funai panels are very good for the cost.

The most recent set from Funia that I was a fan of was the new 42" Sylvania 1080p LCD. I opened it on the salesfloor and was very suprised by what I saw. The PQ was great, but once again my experience with the brand has been soured with years of heavier returns than every other brand we carried at sears. Great tv's if they don't break.

I know of experience that all brands do come back with returns so just can't say one brand has more than the other. Most of the problems could be user error, but I hate to blame users, as companies always want to do it. Again if you want something good you can get it. The market is tight and Funai is in their but companies like Alco Electronics which you do sell at SEARS under Venturer is the worst products to get. Man you're better off with a Funai the Alco Electronic.

Anyway I just spread the word around that there was other choices than the major players. Technology is changing as new electronics are coming out. Funai needs to increase the labor is short compared to my Proview HDTV which has 1 year labor. So if they can do why can't Funai?

I usually test a set for a good 30 days ... But after 3 months you're on your own with a Funai, but their is a bright side you can get extra protection cheap for 2 years.

bye, bye, price/quality/performance trade-off . . . . with fuai, it is so true that you only get what you pay extra for.

Sears Just began selling those garbage Venturer Sets and I know the 3 years I have sold/managed the Electronics Department in three different stores, Sylvania got returned more than any other brand and broke on the salesfloor more than any other manufacturer.

My personal choices in any electronics purchase tend to be based in the company and how they relate to the broadcasting industry. If a company can build quality, reliable products that can with stand rugged use and many hours of 24/7 operation as is required by studios and networks, then I will buy and support them. That said I would buy the following, in no particular order.
Sony Toshiba JVC Hitachi
There seems to be a "trickle down" of their broadcast and industrial lines that they can affordably contain in their consumer lines.

Thats a fair statement, Sylvania makes excellent heavy industry products but their Consumer electronics division somehow got the short end of the stick.
