hey guys new member here.
i wanted to pick up a 32 or 26 inch lcd hdtv (learning toward the 26) on blackfriday and was looking at the Westinghouse LTV-32w6, office depot confirmed to have it on friday. I was wondering if that was a good tv, or if i should spend a little more and get something better? I don't wanna spend over 600$ but i also dont want it to be super shitty Last edited by Arctic; 11-21-2007 at 10:13 PM. |

Don't get the Westy (especially on black friday) seems that the discontinued one's seem to be the one's that show up around this time, plus the extended warranty is prob gonna be $$$ from office depot ... Check out Vizio VX32L or the Sharp Aquos ... ![]() Im also in the market for that size, and from personal experience last year on black friday at BB with a 32" Westy (which was discountiued and hence why it was a doorbuster price would never buy another one again...) On the other hand my friend has been going back and forth with vizio's (debating on a plasma vs lcd) and has settled on a 42" which is real nice. Last edited by GadgetFreek; 11-21-2007 at 10:24 PM. |

Westys seem to be taking a lot of knocks around here as of late. At one time I would not have looked twice at them either. Then a friend of mine bought a 26in (a couple of years ago). After I hooked it up for him I was very suprised to see the set played great. So I started doing my homework and decided to take a shot with one myself. I ended up buying the 42 in 1080p model and have not looked back since. I now own two 47in 1080p, one 42in 720p, one 32in 720p, and my original 42in 1080p set. Based on friends and family seeing what I have, five others have purchased Westys also. Every one of them have had no issues at all with their sets, and are very happy. I'm not saying the Westys a perfect by any means. But if you read around other forums you will see that there are many big name brands with issues of their own as well.
This past July I was looking for something to put on the screened in porch of my new home. I picked up a 26in Sharp at Costco for $500 with $50 coupon. For my needs I found two problems with it. The first being the shinny bezel. I found it very distracting on such a small set. The second (and more important) was it only had 5 watt speakers. It was just not loud enough in an outdoor enviornment. After a couple of days I returned it, and for a few dollars more I picked up my 32in Westy. No more shinny bezel and 10 watt speakers fit my needs a lot better. As it turns out I spend most of my viewing time in front of this one. So far I have been very pleased with it. Whichever set you choose, good luck and enjoy! |

X - Or anyone else who wants to respond ...
What do you think is better for overall quality and reliability? - The 32" Vizio VX32 or The 37" Olevia 237T?? Both have great prices right now ... |

Electronics are the items that seem to keep our sluggish economy going these days. With all the aggressive pricing out there, there should be great deals throughout the remainder of this year. Black Friday will be one day out of many to come.

I have the Visio, and after 2 mos its still geat. I am upgrading the set in the main room and I'm pretty set on 42-46" size. The 32" is going in the spare room. I think you'd be happy with the Visio, and costco customer service is pretty damn good, the warranty too is nice (haven't needed it)
