Default aspect ratio's

Hi!

This is my first post on this site. My question is, I'm considering purchasing a 19" flat screen TV for my office.

If I connect this 19" widescreen HDTV to the in wall RC connector, and I'm assuming that it's not a high def signal, will my TV picture fill the entire screen or only partial? I do not want to view a picture in 4:3 Aspect Ratio, but 16:9 aspect ratio.

Hope this is clear?

I appreciate any help!

I'm sure your TV has an option to stretch the feed over the entire screen so that there will be no black bars on the sides, but it will not somehow magically change to a 16:9 aspect ratio, you will simply be viewing a stretched (and thusly distorted) 4:3 image.

You have to view it on stretch mode if you want the screen filled. Otherwise, get an STB with the HD package or an OTA.

Set Top Box = STB - a cable box with a cable tuner (sometimes a DVR also)

Over The Air = OTA - Those signals broadcast over the air-- just normal TV, Radio, etc. You receive these with an antennae.
