Samsung LN-T3232H Flicker / Flashing Issue..

Hello, I just got a Samsung LN-T3232H 32” LCD & I had been experiencing flickering & constant flashing of the picture from black to white in patches whenever a bright white or light grey background is displayed. I know that this type of thing is a fairly common problem & can be caused by multiple factors. I researched the board & tried several suggestions I found for other posts referencing similar issues. I turned off the digital noise reduction, turned off the DNIe, switched the input cable from HDMI to Component & nothing worked. Then last night my wife mentioned she thought the screen was set too bright for night viewing so I went and switched the Automatic Picture Setting from “Dynamic”, to “Standard” & guess what… no more flickering. These auto settings “Dynamic”, “Standard”, & “Movie” I believe are simply preset setting for the brightness, contrast, black level, etc?? So now I need to do more testing to try & figure out exactly which adjustment using the “Dynamic” setting is causing the issue. I feel relieved that at lease I found a way to stop it as it was VERY annoying. I thought I would post to see if anyone has had a similar issue & was able to pinpoint the exact setting that is causing the flickering issue.

I just bought an LNT4069F 40" 1080p samsung a couple days ago and had the same problem with pixel wide horizontal lines flickering...right out of the box....i don't know if the "standard" option will work although I can't remember trying it.....sometimes the flickering is really bad and other times its very subtle

Yeah a friend of mine bought a 50" plasma from samsung that had a similar issue out of the box. Anytime a movie transitions scenes, there is a blank, black screen. The tv flickers like crazy during these black screen times, and it is infuriating. Next time I'm over at his place I'll look at the model number, but we tried a lot of settings to fix it, including using dynamic or standard. Nothing makes the flickering stop. Would the standard warranty cover something like this?

Turn off all of the motion and EE features. Set the sharpness at 0.

Do what L2W suggests for PQ settings and also look for a Dynamic Contrast setting or automatic room lighting adjustment and turn those off. That is the likely cause of the flickering.

Thanks. I will try next week and post the results along with model #.

* Model number is #pn50a550. We can't find any of those settings to change. The only thing close is switching the tv from "dynamic" to "standard," which doesn't fix the issue. I'll continue working on it and doing research, and thanks for your suggestions.

I couldn't find a motion setting to disable. I did however try several combinations of disabling and enabling EE, dynamic contrast, and sharpness settings. All settings were changed while in standard mode. I think I have tried just about all there is to try at this point. Should I be updating some kind of firmware? Thanks for your help.

My friend finally narrowed down which setting was causing the tv to flicker. In dynamic mode, the brightness has to be above 70 to keep the tv from flickering. It doesn't flicker in standard mode. Samsung was notified and a technician will be coming to fix it in his house under warranty. If the technician says why the tv did that I'll post again, but so far all they said was that it might be the motherboard. I'm sure they say that a lot just to sound cool. But who knows, maybe in this case they are serious.

Let us know what the tech say and if it gets fixed.
