Default PLASMA - Pioneer 50" Plasma HD-TV (PDP5070) OR LCD - Sharp 52" AQUOS LC52D82U

Hey guys, just getting into the flat panel market, read lots of reviews, and I've narrowed it down.
The Sharp LCD I hear has banding issues, but has better resolution than the Pioneer Plasma. The Sharp is $3699.99 CDN and the pioneer is $2499.99 CDN.

Please help me out, if you had to pick between the two, which would you get?

1. PLASMA - Pioneer 50" Plasma HD-TV (PDP5070)
2. LCD - Sharp 52" AQUOS LC52D82U

Thanks again folks

I love this disclaimer:
Quote:
“NOTE!!!
KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATING DISPLAY PERFORMACE WILL CAUSE YOU TO BECOME AWARE OF THE SUBTLE DIFFERENCES IN DISPLAYS SO THAT IDENTICAL IMAGES NO LONGER LOOK ALIKE IN DIFFERENT DISPLAYS. SOME PEOPLE HAVE FOUND THAT THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL HAS REDUCED THEIR ABILITY TO ENJOY THEIR FLAT PANEL TELEVISION.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!”
How true is that? Many people have tried to see rainbows on DLPs and once they succeded they see them forever. These people never knew to look until reading about them. Same with pixel structure. Once you are able to see the individual pixels, many people see them forever! (that would be me!)
So like it says beware!

The PDP5080 just came out and supposedly has much better black levels than the 5070. There are some online places that have the 5080 for 2600 USD, so I'm not sure what that coverts to in CDN.

why dont you go look at the elite PRO-1140HD bb has them for 3k right now and thats an awsome tv for the money no its not 1080p but who cares if you sit far away it does not matter and not much of a difference from 720p to 1080p that i can see, you dont have to worry about tv being broadcast in it for a long time...
