Guys, I am ready to wall mount a 50 inch Vizio. My question, what do you do to the other components like the dvd player? Do you wall mount it to nearby? The fancy pictures all make the wall mounted tvs look sleek but you never see the other stuff. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

There are some examples in the HDTV Forum Gallery. Many times the equipment is remote mounted in a closet or the like. DVD players tend to be a device that needs to be at a location easily acessable to putting the disc in though. The people that are serious about getting rid of the clutter will go for the 400 disc changers or video servers.

This is why for now I left my plasma on a stand. Why mount it a then have a stand full of components below it? I've thought about putting a small rack in the back of the room behind the couch and run a long HDMI through the attick and wall to the TV.

I don't get that either....having a wall mounted Plasma with a component stand/table under it. Sorta, kinda defeats the whole purpose. I looked at the pics in the gallery, and frankly...its looks nutty unless the TV is all my itself and the components are either hidden...or supported by "hanging" wall mounts near the TV.
But to just set a table/TV stand under a wall mounted TV is not attractive in my opinion. If I'm going to punch my walls full of holes, it better look CLEAN when I'm done. |
