Default Good mounting height

Well, I got my wall mount kit. Now, I need to figure out what height on the wall I should mount my 42" plasma. Is there a good angle (height from the floor) that would work? My sofa is about 11'-12' away from the wall. I've heard that it's more natural for your eye to look down. Right now it's sitting on a tv stand that is about 30" above the floor. I would think a little higher is okay. Any suggestions? Oh, and it is NOT being mounted above a fireplace. Just on a blank wall that will probably have a nice piece of furniture under it that will hold all the electronic goodies.

Thanks!

PS, also looking for tips on fishing wires through the wall. I'll need to run the power cord, HDMI cable and composite cables from the TV to the cable box and DVD below.

Ideally, mount the display so that in a seated position, your eyes are aligned between the center to bottom 1/3 of the screen.

Don't wanna burst your bubble, but I believe it is against the National Electric Code (NEC) to run your power cord in the wall. You will need to install/have installed a power outlet behind the television to comply with the law.

Don't want to see you burn your house down.

Bottom of the set is head high when sitting (its an 8 ft. ceiling). That Sony is 40 in.

I have a 50" panny plasma wall mounted and I'm 37" to bottom of screen. I'm viewing it from about 11' and it seems to be a comfortable height for me. I intended to run my wiring in the wall but found a plastic wiring cover at lowes thats made just for wall mounting tvs. Its 3" wide and I think it was 4' long (cut it with a hacksaw). It has a flat piece that screws to the wall and a cover with rounded corners that snaps in place over wires. It looks good and its paintable and if I sell my house or take down my plasma I will just have the wall mount screws holes to patch.
