Default Pioneer PRO-1130HD kicking out of standby mode

Hello All,

I am getting a flashing blue light on the power indicator. it flashes 12 times then pauses and then it flashes 12 times and pauses etc....repeats the iteration. I have called Pioneer tech support and was told that 12 flashes means that the media receiver has detected a high pitched external noise - thus sending it into recovery mode. When I unplug the media receiver to do a hard reset - it will stay in standby mode for about 4 hours and then kick out into the series of the 12 blue flashes. But, there isn't any external noise present in the household.
I've done this (hard reset) at midnight and when I get up in the morning it is flashing in this recovery mode. When I turn the TV on when it's in recovery mode (the power indicator does not flash - solid blue), but I get a panel that says "starting up - please wait". I allowed this panel to remain on for 30 minutes, but the TV never produced any channels, the "please wait" remained so I just turned off the set.
This TV has a Cable Card installed (which I have also pulled out and plugged back in) to reset, - thinking that maybe the TV Guide download is corrupting the signal, sending it into recovery mode) but the same thing happens.
I also unplugged system cables and re-plugged - same thing.
No other equipment is attached - I got this set in '06 and it is used rarely - no configuration changes.
Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated
Just can't understand why 4 hours is the max it will stay in standby mode.
Thanks in advance!!!
Chris in Chicago
