Default why are more or less all the plama's in the shops seem to have poor picture quality.

hi everyone.

When i went in the shops the other day, there was about 30 different plasma's all HD ready, and only about 2/3 which had good picture quality, all the rest was poor.Is this because of the split aerials which are linked to all the plasma's or simply the TV's actual quality. Or is it because i was standing too close to them, that was like 2ft away. But surley they shouldnt be like that should they. The ones with good picture quality was the pioneer and panasonic and a LG.Any other info on this would be highly appreciated

thanks

Well the three you listed looked the best because they are the 3 top rated on the market right now. If you were to get a plasma I would get one of those three, or a Samsung. Pioneer, Panasonic, LG, and Samsung make the best plasmas.

Beyond that there are other good ones. Some probably looked bad because they are set poorly or people have simply screwed with the adjustments. Plus some may have low quality video being played on them. There are tons of factors why some look good and some look bad. Some of the ones that look bad may actually be good Plasmas if they were simply adjusted a bit.

If you can afford it, stick to one of the above brands, you cannot go wrong with them. If they are out of your budget, then you will have to do some research and some comparative shopping. Good Luck

Then 360kid would return it to Costco 9 months later and rip them off when a newer model came out and pocket the difference

Default Again......

I must ask, "If Costco (or Sam's Club) is not worried about a few people returning a perfectly good set for an upgrade, or for the same set, plus some $$$ back (and I promise you they are not at all worried, as this is all figured into to their hugely successful business plan) why should anyone on this forum be concerned ?

Is this easy enough to understand ? Or do I need to try to simplify it even further ?

Peace,
Fish

No fight, and no offense intended. I bought my plasma at a Big Box. I was just thinking that CC and SC couldn't have paid for a better advertisement

IMO, the OP provided several aswers to his own question...

We interrupt your regularly scheduled thread to bring you this gratuitous plug for Sam's Club...

When I'm shopping for a brand new flat panel, fixed pixel display of the highest quality ( ) and largest diagonal dimensions, I like to stroll through the spacious aisles at my local Sam's Club. Sam's Club really knows how to allow sufficient room between the shopper and the heavily discounted displays. Sam's Club was the only store, with reasonable prices, where I could actually position myself at the distance from which I intended to view my future purchase. That's right, Sam's Club... 'cause if the price ain't right, you can always return it... again... and again... until it is.

DISCLAIMER: This message is intended for the sole purpose of providing comic relief. Any assemblance to reality found in the above message is purely coincidental.

All three of the brands you mention are top tier. With the proper input, any of the three would blow you away.
Now my shameless plug.
LG specs will rival any other high end PDP
LG has a 2 year P&L warranty on PDP
If parts are needed during warranty and not available within 15 days, customer gets a new set.
Oh, there is also rebates on the set + another rebate of 300.00 available toward the purchase of furniture / or another LG product - such as an HTIB - and rebates can be combined.
Check the rebate details here..
http://us.lge.com/md/product/prodsubcategorylist.jsp
Rebates do have limitations in regard to some stores - like Best Buy, Circuit City.

Oh, one other thing. It is a neat thing to talk to a tech and he tells you how well constructed your product is, speaking to the actual build and the quality of the electronics inside. LG is one of three mfg. that control the build completely from start to finish - building their own panels and it's own circuitry to a large extent.

Be blessed in your quest.

The store is unfortunately a bad place to shop for TV's. Make NO sense right? Yep, I struggled for a while when finally settling on my AQUOS it took a while and I spent a lot of time messing with settings and trying DVD's and abunch of other stuff.

I suspect that many of the plasmas and LCD's for that matter prolly look their WORSTat the very stores that are seeling them.
