This is thread that lasted so long because a couple of posters just wanted to argue about something (and they really had to work at it inorder to maintain the argument for so long).

It started out just fine then degressed into nonsense.

Just curious about where you got your statistics there. As a rep for LG - my curious mind likes little tidbits of info like that.
Edit:
May not get a reply, as I just noted that the OP made the comment that he was finished posting to this thread. If anyone knows where to get statistics like that and would care to answer, I would love to know.
Thanks

Sorry to burst your bubble 'iser, but I lived/worked in Malaysia when the Sony plants were first operational in the 1980's. Quality control was so poor and the reliability of the final product so bad that Sony threatened to dump the whole operation. It was only after an "exteremely" concentrated effort by the Malaysian government and Sony, which included staffing the plants with Japanese workers for 5 years, that the electronics coming out of Malaysia could even be put on the market shelves since they had such a deplorable reputation that even the Malaysians wouldn't buy them. Put simply - they were total junk. Indonesia, right next door, didn't fare any better and if we have any far eastern members in this forum I am certain they will tell you they won't buy anything made in Malaysia or Indonesia.

Now, having said that, about 20 years have passed since then and they may have cleaned up their act.

Sure hope so.
