Somewhere in this link the Blu-Ray DVD Player will connect, all using HDMI, and the only Co-Ax involved will be from the wall to the cable box, correct?
Right, see your learnin' lol

Boy, this just never ends!............... In the hopes of getting educated on HDMI cables, I've run into prices that are literally all over the map! They range in price from just $5.33, all the way to $499.99! And just about everything in between. How do you know what you need, let alone what to pay?? It's insane that a cable should cost over 1/3rd as much as the TV I'm hooking up with it!

I'm figuring that after I get everything I need up and running, (HD Cable Receiver Box and a Blu-Ray Player), I'll be needing 2 of these things. I should not require more than 6' for either one. The only question is which one??

I should have mentioned that I have a very good surge protector that I was using with my old equipment. It was the first thing I hooked up, and the set is plugged into it.

I am 60 also but not for long. Monoprice is a good place to order HDMI cables if you need a few, reputable seller with good quality products at good prices. If you can't wait for mail order, WalMart or Best Buy should have something within your budget. The $5.33 HDMI cable you linked should be fine, it is listed as high speed HDMI 1.4.

The one I linked you to is from a company Monoprice owns and this is their new line of high performance at a very reasonable price, this cable is extremely flexible and easy to work meeting all the newest ratings and standards.
