If you haven't fixed it yet....this is a common problem and forgive me if I'm being simplistic but go into the AUDIO part of your menu and check if you have speakers/sound sent to off. Or something similar to that, depending on brand.
Only bring this up since I got perfectly good TV from neighbor who was throwing it out for same reason. It was on street. Asked if I could have remote which he gave me. Could have never 'fixed it' without remote, but that was all it was. Let me know if this helps! Bonnie |

He was playing with the *service* menu. Playing with the *service* menu without knowing what you are doing is a good way to brick the set. The OP will probably need to get it fixed by a professional.

Uh oh...my bad. As I had said my original post (that I deleted somehow but left outta this one - hence the first oops post) - I'm a greenhorn and don't know much about all this stuff....
![]() Didn't pick up on the 'service' menu part. Heck, don't even know what SERVICE menu is. Just checked my menu and can't find it so guess it's more advanced. Just thought he meant the 'normal' menu. Will have to google that one. ![]() Oh well....at least I got someone to answer the poor guy. He posted on the 10th and here it was the 12th so I felt bad for him. Bonnie |

OK.....just did (google) and found this interesting link.
http://forums.att.com/t5/Receivers-B...s/td-p/2185185 For the OP, not that this is exactly your situation..nor did I check out the links within this link. As well, not even sure what they're talking about. But just found it somewhat related and interesting. And to ddeerfff....you are absolutely right!! Seems it's a whole 'nuther world than the basic 'menu' and nothing to be messed with. Forgive my 'simple-minded' post. But live and learn -- which I just did -- so thanks !! Seriously !!! I damn sure won't ever go wandering around in THAT place (which I've been known to do in other situations since I'm so curious and have screwed things up before because of that) lol.
