Default P50S1 for less than 999?

So BB has these tv's for 999, but I know a guy that owns a Home theater install company and runs a real brick and mortar store here in town. He says that he can usually beat BB prices, which I find hard to believe but he says that he really doesnt mark up his inventory, he just makes money on the installs and extra stuff like cables, warranty's, you know.

Anyway, he says that BB could probably go lower on their price because he can go lower than 999. He didn't say how much but he said it was a "decent chunk lower than 999". You think if I take a price quote from him to BB they'll beat it? It's worth a try I guess.

At $999 the little guy is about right with the price. If me choice was between the local merchant or a big box store,,,the local merchant gets the nod. To BB you are anonymous, to the local merchant, you are a customer.

i bought my 50s1 last friday and i haven't left my house/couch since than! awesome tv for the money!

if you read BB price matching policy online they say they will not price match at all...but i keep reading about people getting price matches? i would also suspect you would need an add on printed paper to get any kind of match from them.

I agree unless you need the 3 or 4 year interest free payments that BB almost always offers. Just remember that it MUST be paid in full BEFORE the end or they add all the deferred interest at a ridiculous rate like 22% from the beginning of the purchase. Even if it is only 1 cent left unpaid they do this.

It was the little guy that said he could go even lower than the BB 999 price. I was wondering if I could get him to get me that in writing, then take it to BB and see if they will then beat him.

I'm still going to buy the thing even if it's a little above 999, I'm just looking to see if I can get an even better deal by doing it this way.
