Arrow LCD for Computer Monitor

Hey everyone, I'm looking to get an LCD tv to use as a computer monitor and want some of your suggestions. Ideally I'd like a 32" monitor, and have about $650 to spend. The laptop it will be hooked up to is a little older, so it will be connected via a vga cable. Thanks.

So you will also use it for watching TV or your only going to use it for a monitor?

I'm only going to be using it for a monitor, but would like something that would function well as a tv - although it wouldn't be a deal breaker if it was a great monitor and not a very good tv.

I saw a few 32'' LCD tvs with vga connections in best buy. If you just need a monitor why not get a 30'' or 32'' computer monitor. Dell has a nice 30'' one that you can get close to 650 on line. It's really nice.

I would recommend getting a 32 inch LCD...you should easily be able to get one for under $650. Do not get a plasma because it will cause burn ins because of the same pixles being used if it is a monitor.

I've seen first hand how excellent the Samsung LCDs look when connected to a computer, sharp, clear and vivid!

Oh yes, you are correct. I believe I've seen them on display at London Drugs. They looked pretty good.

If only I could view my pictures in 16:9 rather than 4:3! I guess it's time for digital 16:9 cameras, Panasonic's FX series shoots 16:9 images.
